How the index works

How tokens get found and tagged

Every night the site searches the public DexScreener API for a list of theme keywords ("doge", "pepe", "agent", "trump", …) and saves every token it finds. A token gets a theme when its name or symbol contains one of that theme's keywords. One token can have several: "Artificial Inu" is both dogs and AI.

Tokens are never deleted. If DexScreener stops returning data for one, it is marked inactive and sinks to the bottom of the list. The date a token was first seen never changes; it drives the "new this week" count on every theme page, the earliest visible sign of a meta starting.

The list

Theme pages list every tagged token, most liquid first, with no minimum. Nothing is picked, flagged, scored or filtered out. This is an index, not a safety tool.

How a token gets into the index

A token counts toward this index only if liquidity ≥ $100K, 24h volume ≥ $50K and the pair is at least 72 hours old. The index holds the 25 most liquid tokens that clear that bar, one per symbol per chain (the most liquid listing is kept), equal-weighted, picked again every night.

Thinly traded tokens print meaningless percentage moves that would distort an equal-weighted average, so the bar is pure arithmetic. Pairs with no known creation time cannot prove their age and stay out.

How the index is calculated

The tokens in the index change every day, so it is not built from market caps. Each day the index moves by the average 24-hour price change of the tokens in it:

index_today = index_yesterday × (1 + average_24h_change_of_todays_tokens)

Every theme and group starts at 1,000 on its first snapshot. A group index holds every token from its themes' indexes, each counted once, so a token can be in more than one group.

Data

Price, liquidity, volume and 24h change come from the public DexScreener API, saved once a day (UTC). When a token trades in several pairs, the most liquid one is used. The link on every token page goes to the DexScreener pair page.
